Meet Honeydew, a sweet and friendly Shih Tzu (weighing in at 14 lbs) who was recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue. Despite her past, she has an incredible spirit and is always eager to make new friends, both human and canine. Her true happiness, though, lies in finding the perfect lap to cuddle up in-she's a natural snuggler who just wants to feel loved and safe. This lovely girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a forever family who will cherish her gentle heart and affectionate nature. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
