Hoss came to TGPR from the countryside where kind finders gave him shelter in the hot summer and got him the the vet. He is quite underweight, weighing 85 at the moment but the vet thinks Hoss should weigh around 120. His eyes tell all, a sweet and gentle giant, Hoss is calm and a bit lazy, doesn't bark yet. He gets along with everyone, dogs, cats, horses, kids! Hoss is such a mellow guy, he is an old, gentle soul. Hes very chill and sleeps most of the day. We dont know if thats just his personality or as he puts on more weight and gets better nutrition, perhaps his stamina and activity levels will increase. He likes to go for short walks in the morning and late evening. He mostly likes to sniff and zig zag on leash, but he doesnt pull. He does like sniffing the perimeter outside but has quickly realized its nice to be in the AC. No accidents. He tanks on water at night and hasnt been confined and makes it til the morning. Gets up when you get up and sleeps through the night. He enjoys pets and will lean into you or paw you for more. He is slow to eat the kibble and eats the high value toppers on top but we are trying to get calories in him. He knows no commands but he seems to recognize his name Hoss. We dont for see him having issues with being alone. He mostly just slept while we were gone. Hes not vocal even when someone comes in the house, so not a guard dog. He rides well in the car though getting in, he requires though needs help getting in. He'd love to go home to his forever home with you!
