Hugh is a sweet boy with a little pep in his step, and he's ready to find his forever home! After coming to us in rough shape, Hugh has blossomed into a healthy, happy pup who can't wait to share his love with you. This charming guy is both housebroken and crate trained. In fact, he loves his crate so much that you'll often find him napping inside, snoozing peacefully with the door open! Hugh walks fairly well on a harness, though he does get a bit excited when he spots another dog. He's well-mannered and knows commands like sit, wait, and shake paws. His food motivation makes him super trainable-especially when treats are involved! While Hugh can be reactive to dogs and people in busy situations, he thrives during one-on-one introductions. He's a calm companion with a playful side, enjoying cozy time on the couch in his favorite sweater and keeping an eye out for birds outside. This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It's a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
