My Story

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: 4 months Weight: 7 pounds This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Inspire Adoration is an affectionate and intelligent mixed breed puppy who currently weighs seven pounds. He and his four littermates (who are also available for adoption) are supposedly a a combination of German Shepherd, Great Dane, Doberman, and a registered Catahoula Leopard Dog. However, Inspire is still very small at four months old, so we find that particular mix unlikely. Either way, he is a friendly and charming puppy with dandy ears! Inspire and his littermates have been kenneled and separated from home life since early October 2023. His foster family includes a man, a woman, older children, small and large dogs, and cats, and although he is not fully integrated into the house, he has been friendly and sweet to everyone he has met. Very few people other than the core family ever come into the house. Inspire and his siblings enjoy playing together inside their kennels or in a small yard, although since Inspire is quite small, he can be a littte timid around his larger siblings. He enjoys toys, and sometimes likes to engage in a game of tug-of-war or fetch. Inspire and his littermates suffered from a bout of parvo, but they have fully recovered since then. Inspire is a typical puppy who is both playful and responsive to corrections. He has been described as a perfect house guest, and loves to spend time on your lap or playing with a toy. He has been quiet and clean in his crate or kennel for up to eight hours, but his house and leash training have not begun yet. We strongly recommend that all of our dogs, especially puppies, attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it can build confidence and socialization for the dog. It's also fun! It oftens takes a lot of time, energy, and patience to bring up a puppy--and it's absolutely worth it. Inspire is a very friendly and mild-mannered puppy. We think he will be an absolute joy to raise, and that he will be a wonderful addition to any home! Medical Note: Inspire is a parvo survivor, and he is still gaining weight. His last symptoms were on 12/6/2023, and we are so happy that he is okay now! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ * *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
