- Friendly, energetic girl who LOVES long walks and hikes; previous family said ideally she would have a good long walk every day to burn off some energy - Will come to you with a wiggly body asking for pets and attention; has been friendly and bouncy with strangers; likes to bounce around us while we sit on the floor with her - Likes treats and food, but what she really loves are squeaky toys and tennis balls; previous family said she was obsessed with a little stuffed animal toy with a squeaker in their home - LOVES being tucked in or under blankets, and it calms her when she's whining - Knows sit, stay, down and maybe more - Did best in a kennel/crate when her previous family was gone - Has been known to slip out of collars and harnesses, so we highly recommend using a martengale collar - Not a fan of nail trims - Has lived with other dogs and was playful with them and other dogs she met in her previous home; while in the shelter she has been shy and uncertain around new dogs, so slow intros might be beneficial (dog intro recommended) - Did well with the cats in her previous home and would relax with them and miss them when they weren't around - We don't know her history with children - Fun fact: DNA testing shows she is 29% Belgian Malinois, 25% bullmastiff, 24% German shepherd and 22% Airedale terrier All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
