Meet Jaeger, an almost 4-year-old Mountain Cur mix who is eagerly searching for a loving forever home. Jaeger's life began as an outside dog, surrendered to us due to no fault of his own. His previous family had to move and felt that he wouldn't be happy in their new home. Jaeger has been waiting for a long time in search of his forever family, as he originally came to our shelter in summer of 2020. It does take a little work to win him over, but once you do, he will certainly be your buddy for life! Once he establishes a connection with his human, he will go above and beyond to show his unwavering devotion. In his time with us, Jaeger has graduated the Puppies for Parole program through our partnering correctional center. From his handler we learned Jaeger is very intelligent, easily trained, and highly food motivated. Through his opportunity with P4P, he has been house trained, crate trained, taught basic obedience, and started on home manners! We also learned from his handler that when it comes to favorite pastimes, cuddle sessions take the top spot for Jaeger. He has certainly come a long way from being someone's forgotten farm dog! Here at the shelter, Jaeger goes out in a playgroup with other dogs, but it should be noted that he is the dominant one. By providing him with a loving home, you will witness the transformation of a wary dog into a devoted and affectionate family member.
