Jake is a designer dog known as a Shollie- a German Shepherd/Border Collie, he's all the rage right now. Jake has a wonderful personality and would be a great family dog. Jake was rescued from a neglectful family who left him kenneled outside and then didn't want him anymore. He ended up being heartworm positive so his rescuer/foster took him through heartworm treatment and has had him on heartworm preventative since.
Jake is extremely intelligent, very obedient, crate trained, and get along with other dogs, cats and loves children. Since he had been kept in a pen outside his entire life, he was not housebroken when he was rescued, but he learned really fast and can use potty pads or go outside- he will get your attention like he wants affection when he needs to go out. Jake is a big family dog as Shollie's are bred to be companion dogs. He needs to be in a home where he will be indoors with his family as he's a lover. He loves kids but when he starts playing he can jump and rough house so they need to be old enough to not get knocked down, or in a patient home that will work on it with him.
Jake loves to go on long walks on the beach... or just walks. He loves to play, run and rough house. He loves to play with his foster siblings but listens if you tell him to quiet down or go to his bed. He knows how to go to his crate, sit, come, lie. Jake loves to cuddle and wants nothing more than to find a furever family that will cuddle him furever.
