My Story

Meet Jameson Age: ~1 year Sex: Male Location: Tulsa Jameson is the definition of a survivor. He was found on a porch in Porter before a deep freeze, he was unable to use his hindleg and stank worse than anything his foster had ever smelled. He was rushed to the vet where it was discovered he had been shot in his hind leg and the wound was festering with infection. The vet said it was one of the worst infections she's ever seen and the worst amputation she has ever done. We don't know exactly how old he is or what he went through, he has several scars and patches of missing hair, but despite all that he just wants love. Jameson is a sweet, loving boy. He does great with the dogs and cat in his foster home. While, he hasn't been around kids, his foster mom thinks he'd do great because he is gentle and affectionate. Although, he does get nervous and cowers around loud noises, so perhaps kiddos who understand doggies would be best. He is learning some basic obedience at home and can sit and lay down. We are working on jumping and pulling on leash when he is excited. He loves to climb up in his foster mom's lap for cuddles at night. But don't let that fool you, his missing limb does not slow him down. This energetic boy loves to go for walks, play fetch, and wrestle with his foster brothers. He gets so excited to go outside he leaps down 5 stairs with a single bound. Given his clearly traumatic history, Jameson does have some things his new family will need to work with him on. He can be a bit nervous around new people and tends to be protective of mom on walks (barking but not aggressive). He will let you know when people are around the house, but once they are inside, he is their best friend, asking for cookies and kissed. He struggles a bit with separation anxiety. He has been okay in crates at times, but has also managed to break free of two different crates. So instead his foster mom just uses a baby gate to keep him contained and he has never been destructive. Jameson deserves to live out the rest of his life in a loving home where he can snuggle, play ball, and wrestle with doggy siblings. If you think he's the perfect fit for your family, please apply today!
