My Story

Meet Jamon! This handsome devil is a good boy who is eager to please. While he needs some additional training and leash work, he is making improvements and has come a long way! Jamon is very affectionate and gets along well with large dogs. He does get a little jealous, as he likes to have your attention. He is a cuddle bug and loves to sleep with his person. He has learned to play with toys, can be quite the goof and has also been house broken. He likes women and men, however children are an unknown. Jamon has displayed some food aggressive behavior, so this will be something that needs continued work and monitoring. He has already made improvements in this area. Jamon needs an environment that can stimulate his brain to help keep any destructive behavior, like chewing, at bay (boredom is not his friend) and an enclosure that is secured (for his safety as well as any neighborhood cats, etc.). Jamon has a very high prey drive. He is NOT cat friendly. He needs monitored closely when going on walks or in an area where any small animal may come within view. Small dogs may also pose a problem as he is used to larger breed dogs (his best canine friend is a German Shepherd) and small dogs may trigger his prey drive. He walks pretty well on leash, however he is still learning commands that go along with it. Jamon also gets distracted by cats, etc...but he is doing well walking away with his handler when those situations arise. On the flip side, this silly boy is fearful of fire hydrants and vehicles, and dislikes cold weather. Jamon needs someone that is willing to give him the snuggles he craves and extra work he needs to become his best doggie self. This special boy will make you laugh and brighten your day.   Please, only apply if you can give Jamon a fur-ever home.
