My Story
Hello there! My name is Jasper, and I’m a gentle giant looking for my forever home. I’m a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix, weighing in at a hefty 124 pounds. With my fluffy white coat and soulful eyes, I might look like a big cloud of love, but there’s a bit more to my story.
I’ve had my fair share of challenges, including Addison disease, which means I need a daily dose of medication to help me feel my best. Sometimes, my hormones can get a bit wacky, causing me to react strongly to sudden changes in my environment. I’m a sensitive soul, and I appreciate a calm atmosphere where I can thrive.
I love to spend my days lounging in the living room, and I’m always house-trained. When I need to go outside, I’ll let you know! I’m not the biggest fan of being approached while I’m eating, so it’s best to give me some space during mealtime. I also tend to be a little possessive over my food and toys, so it’s important for my new family to understand my boundaries.
Despite my size, I have a medium activity level. I enjoy leisurely walks, but I can be a bit of a challenge on the leash, so patience is key. I’m great at socializing in public spaces, but I can be a little protective of my home and family, especially when meeting new people. It might take me some time to warm up, but once I do, I’m just a big softy at heart.
I get along well with other dogs when we’re out and about, but I prefer to keep my distance in my home territory. As for cats, well, I’m not really sure how I’d react—I’ve never met one! I’m a bit cautious around young children and would prefer a home where they understand that I need my space.
I love car rides and splashing around in water, which is always a fun way to bond! I might be a bit noisy at times, but I’m just letting you know I’m here. And if you give me a little time to adjust, I promise you’ll see my true colors: a loyal companion who just wants to be loved.
