An owner/breeder death has resulted in the displacement of five Whippet pups from Michigan. Jep and Sax have come to the shelter and the remaining three are temporarily being fostered in Canonsburg by the owner's daughter who will make them available on weekends by appointment via Angel Ridge. The five boys were born on 8-15-24 and are quickly outgrowing their crates. Adult males average 30-35 lbs. and as you would expect, these sleek dogs are as fast as blue blazes and require a place to safely run. This special breed requires an experienced handler. Adopter must have a fenced yard at minimum. All the pups are well socialized, loving, and want to be with people. They are mostly crate trained. Outside their crate they are mischievous just like normal puppies their age. No biting or other issues. They love kids and strangers. Being sight hounds, they may not be the best choice for cats, but may be a good companion for another dog. They want to be everyone's friends. You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment.
