My Story

PLEASE READ FULLY BEFORE APPLYING! We will only be accepting applications with homes that have experience with the below reactivity/behavioral issues. From Joe Dirt Trainer: - JD would do best in an experienced home. A place tothat understands the importance of setting boundaries, routines, and leadership. - He's overly interested in cats, but not aggressive. He can just be a lot for them - He would do best as an only dog, or with low key dogs that set their boundaries. Playful dogs are not a great match for him as he gets overstimulated and can turn reactive. - Kids 12 and older only - A family that is able to meet his exercise needs (he is on the moderate end). We have found that walks, fetch and training a few times a day are great for him. With a clear leader, he does great following correction and isn't worried about guarding anything. He cannot be babied as that could lead into human guarding. We are working on reactivity issues at this time.......while he's in the crate, greeting new people, and at the gate. We are also working on his jumping and eventually on his leash manners. He has never had an accident in the house, but he has had a couple in the crate in the beginning. He has kept his crate clean since Sunday. No counter surfing or stealing items he shouldn't have (except crumbs on the floor). He can be trusted to be alone for short periods of time while out of the crate..... although we haven't tested this with fully leaving the house, just when we have to go upstairs or in the basement.
