My Story

This beautiful black and white guy is John Boy. He was found as a stray on the reservation when just a small puppy. His lack of socialization indicated he had not been around people, only other dogs. He adores other dogs, and his confidence increases when around other dogs. John Boy came to rescue and went right to a boarding and training facility to help with his confidence. He's done very well there and his confidence has increased. He'd been there a few months and we were ready to send him out to rescue partners, but while playing with a resident dog, John Boy broke the small bone in his lower leg. So he had pretty strict crate rest for the next eight weeks which was super hard for a puppy. So he has been in boarding for over 5 months. He's been living in the trainers home, so less like boarding. He's now about a year old and has never had a home of his own. He's very cute and very sweet, although a little bit shy around a new people. I think John Boy would benefit from a home with another confident dog, or possibly just a very attentive person. John Boy's petite at about 35 lb, fully vetted, chipped, HW negative, and neutered. Let me know if you'd like more info about John Boy. Currently in Cortez, CO.
