Juanita

Graceful and charming Juanita is ready to pirouette into your life! This enchanting and friendly young lady is about 8 months old and a perfect 46 pounds. Yep, those ears make us think there’s some hound in her ancestry. Juanita found herself a lost stray and soon thereafter a resident of an Arkansas Humane Society where she was a favorite. One volunteer remarked: "She looks at you with a fun loving smile and then at times, looks at you with a gaze filled with heart-melting peacefulness and kindness." Juanita’s foster mom is quite fond of her too and notes that she is crate trained, house trained and done well with free roam of the home for a few hours. She’s working on a basic command or two, walks pretty well on leash, and rides nicely in the car. While she is a little shy meeting new people, it doesn’t take long before she’s delighted to make your acquaintance. Juanita gets along well with other dogs at doggie day care and when out and about. In the home though, she prefers to be your only furry princess and not share you with canine housemates. Not sure about cats. Her foster mom adds: “Juanita is a sweet dog who is a good companion and is easy to be around. She likes to be with people, but is not clingy. She's very gentle and is good around children. Juanita loves hanging outside and watching the activities in the park or rabbits in the yard. “She's a young dog with an 'old soul'. She likes to get on the couch to watch TV in the evening, and sleeps quietly at night. “Juanita seems to be very adaptable. She would be fine with almost any activity level from what I have seen. She needs training but is smart and treat oriented so training should be relatively easy; but, she is young so patience will be needed.”
