June is an ADORABLE German Shepherd mix born around 04/06/2024! Though she may be shy at first, once June warms up, her true German Shepherd colors show as she is the most loyal, loving companion you’ll come across! When out in public spaces, she can easily identify her people and will light up when you come back to her to say hi- she always makes her people feel so special and loved! As if June could get any sweeter, she LOVES leaning in for hugs as it is her most FAVORITE way to show affection and of course, cuddle time is her absolute favorite time of the day! As much as she enjoys the slower moments in life, June likes to show her fun, energetic side too!
This girl would LOVE a yard and a fur friend to run and play with! She enjoys toys and will gladly share them nicely with other dogs AND people! Though June is not a fan of cats, she is GREAT with dogs of all sizes, even 12-pound daschund’s (her current foster sister is a daschund and she is the queen regardless of how much bigger June is than her- just check out that photo of her laying on top of June lol!) Her foster parents haven’t seen any food, toy, or water aggression from her- even when dogs are mean to June, she is cool, calm, and collected making her GREAT for a pack environment or a family!
As if this girl could get any better, she is working hard on potty training and is currently being doorbell trained! At adoption events, June can be seen chilling in a chair or calmly on the floor- always so well behaved in public! Additionally, though she hasn't met kiddos at home, June has always been gentle around small kiddos! She is also very well behaved in the car though she might have the occasional car sickness which she is growing out of as she goes on more car rides!
This smart girl knows commands like sit, stay, lie down, and how to go into her crate! June takes treats SO gently and SUPER treat-motivated, which makes training her fun and easy! She is working on walking politely on a leash, but she does tend to pull and get scared around. Her foster parents are currently working on walking her consistently to help her confidence grow! With patience, consistency, and a loving family, June will thrive and bloom into a confident gal!
June would do best with a family who works from home as she does have some separation anxiety but if give her toys and bones to keep her busy, especially soft toys with squeakers, June does a little better! It’s the shy ones whose trust you have to work for that make the most loving, and loyal companions! In totality, June is looking for a family who will spoil her for the princess she is! She will need jackets, sweaters, the trip to Starbuck's for a pup cup- you know, the whole nine yards! You can't skip out on the jacket part either because she knows when her jacket comes out, it's time to go on a walk lol! If you're ready for a loving, princess of a furbaby, June is the perfect fit for you!

She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will allow adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval.
ADOPTION FEE: $350 (includes spay/neuter must be done when the rescue schedules it at one of our partner vets, microchip, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease ) and a general wellness which includes dewormer, heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention)
*Please understand that we will spay/neuter no younger than 16 weeks but it is the rescue's discretion when the dog will get that procedure. We know that some veterinarians recommend waiting depending on the breed's projected size but as a rescue, our goal is to prevent further unwanted, "accidental" litters. Spaying and neutering also have many benefits for cancer prevention and avoiding behavioral problems. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs as early as 8-16 weeks of age. We always assess and speak with our partner vets when is the best time to perform this procedure.
