My Story

Hello! My name is June Bug! I am sweet and wiggly, a happy girl to be sure. I can be shy meeting new people, but that is only because someone was not nice to me before. I was found tied up the woods, left alone in the cold, waiting for some kind of miracle. Thankfully I was brought to the shelter and then adopted! My former adoptive family was the best! They loved me a lot and took great care of me. But...they discovered something I hadn't told the shelter staff....I'm a master vermin catcher! I love to chase birds, bunnies, squirrels, you name it! I am still a young dog, very strong, and when chasing after these forest friends, I was becoming too much to handle for my adopters. To keep me safe, they brought me back for a second chance at a home that could meet my needs better. I am crate trained and do well in it. I am housebroken. I am very affectionate and super sweet. Come meet me today and take me home with you! Heres what the staff have to say about June Bug: June Bug is such a sweet girl! Shes unsure of new people at first, but once shes comfortable with you, all she wants is to be by your side. Shes a big athletic girl, and sometimes she forgets her size. Shes a bit clumsy, and trips over her feet to get near her favorite people! She thinks shes a lapdog and will climb right into your lap if you let her! She LOVES snacks and going swimming in the pool! Come meet our sweet girl and see if shes the right pup for you! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes: - initial canine distemper combination vaccination - first worming or stool check - rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age) - 24 Petwatch microchipping - flea treatment/preventative - spaying or neutering Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $7.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$5.20) Leash and collar included
