At just 12 lbs, Khloe Twinklepaws is small in size but big in potential. This sweet, 1-year-old Dachshund has mastered the art of being adorable (without even trying) and is ready to find her forever home! She’s dog-friendly, small animal-friendly, and just an all-around gentle soul—basically, a furry diplomat.
Now, let’s be honest: Khloe may take a little time to warm up to humans. Think of her as a tiny, nervous celebrity who just needs a moment to decide if you’re paparazzi or a fan she can trust. But once she realizes you’re the kind with snacks and belly rubs, she’ll let that shy exterior melt away, one wag and nose boop at a time.
Her motto? “I’m scared… but I’m working on it!” Even when she’s feeling a bit unsure, Khloe handles herself with quiet kindness—like the friend who always says “thank you” even when she’s overwhelmed.
She’s on a mission to become her best, bravest self and would love a patient adopter to cheer her on as she blossoms into the confident little diva she was born to be. Bonus points if you have other friendly pets to help show her the ropes—Khloe loves a pack to hang with (as long as they don’t hog the bed).

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.
2024 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250
*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!

Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels.
