My Story

Meet Kimber, a one and a half year old Pitbull/Cattle Dog mix weighing around 37 pounds. Kimber showed up on someone's property with a face full of B.B. Bullets and starving. Nine B.B.s were removed from her face and head and there still may be more in there but they don't seem to be bothering her at this time. We can't imagine how or why she would have been shot in the face that many times. What is even more incredible is that she still wants human affection and looks to people for comfort. Kimber is a sweet girl who was around four other dogs in her finder's home without issue. She wants to please her people and looks to you to make sure she is doing a good job. Kimber has sad, soulful eyes and a short tail that we find adorable. She is looking for someone to give her lots of love and who will make sure she never has to want for anything ever again. This pet is available for adoption on 1/12/2025 at 3:17 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works. Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/ Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at [email protected].
