Meet Knox, an almost two-year-old Great Pyrenees x Lab mix weighing 77lbs- a true gentle giant to say the least. His endearing nature is particularly touching considering his special need - he is deaf. Despite his hearing impairment, Knox is a happy and easy going guy. His sweet and mild nature instantly warms the hearts of those around him. However, he DOES NOT like sharing his food with people or animals, becoming very defensive and possessive. Feeding time for Knox should look like this...fed alone in a room with a closed door and not let out until he's done eating. When it comes to other dogs, we have never seen him show any outward signs of aggression. However, it seems that other dogs are unpredictable to him, and he would choose to avoid them if he had the option. If pushed by another dog, he seems like he would defend his personal space. However, we haven't allowed him to feel like he has to defend himself. With that in mind, Knox would be best suited as the only dog in a household or with lower-energy canine companions who respect his boundaries. Alternatively, a home experienced in managing multiple dogs could provide him with the guidance and supervision he needs to flourish.
