Meet Lainey! This gorgeous 1-year-old Shih Tzu, weighing just under 12 pounds, is ready to find a forever family that will love her as much as she deserves. Tossed out in the cold by her previous owners, Lainey was rescued by one of our amazing rescue partners and given the care she needed--including a fresh groom that has her looking and feeling her best! Lainey is playful and friendly with other dogs but also enjoys sitting back and observing the action. She's crate trained and doing well with house training when given regular potty breaks. Gentle and sweet, she's the perfect balance of playful and cuddly. With love and guidance, Lainey will make a fantastic family companion! Her higher adoption fee will enable us to pay for a dental and bloodwork for one of the senior dogs we recently took in who badly needs it. IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located. ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
