Meet Lana! This super sweet and snuggly girl is ready to find her forever family!!
She's 3.5 years old and 36lbs. After being found as a stray, she went through the Houston shelter system. Everyone noticed how delighful she was, so she was pulled for rescue! She's been fully vetted including being treated for the Heartworm infection she had at intake. She's feeling much better having this pampered new life!!
Her foster mom says:
Lana will make a wonderful addition to any family! At roughly 3 years old, Lana is fully grown.
She is fully housebroken, and is comfortable in a crate but also sleeps perfectly all night in just a dog bed.
She's also very food motivated and would be very easy to train beyond her existing skill set of sit, stay, and paw. S
he can be a little shy right when you first meet her, but within minutes she blossoms and before you know it she's lying on her back begging for belly rubs. She also has the most adorable underbite that lets her tongue blep out when she's laying down.
Lana is very gentle and mild-mannered, and warmed up to her foster brother right away.
Her energy level at home is medium to low—she is more than happy to lounge on the couch for hours and snuggle, but lights up with energy at the dog park. She's also a very easy walker and does a great job on the leash—no pulling!
Lana would truly be so happy in a wide range of homes, and would make a great companion even for a first-time dog owner.
She's very happy in a city environment, but would also thrive in a suburban home. She'll do exceedingly well in a home with another dog, with small kids, or as the sole pet.
She has not been exposed to domesticated cats so we can't say for sure how she might do in a home with one, but in her encounters with some neighborhood strays she hasn't been reactive or aggressive.
Lana does have some separation woes, so if you work from home she would be thrilled but also with some extra training her displeasure is definitely manageable.
In general, Lana is an amazing dog, and whoever adopts her should consider themselves extremely lucky!"
