My Story

PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - LARK BREED - Chihuahua SIZE - About 10 pounds AGE - 2-5 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Lark is a precious little girl who came to us recently from rural NC where she was found as a stray. This gentle angel is a joy to be with and would love to become someone's couch potato! Lark is both quiet and clean, and would be happy beside her special person enjoying a quiet life. She is fully grown at just over 10 pounds, she is a perfect size for most homes! Lark is in good health and fully vaccinated. She will be spayed and microchipped in early January so until that time, she is only available for adoption locally to Richmond, VA. After her spay we can expand the adoption area. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with her. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will be sought. She will make a wonderful companion for a senior person who is able to care for her independently. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Lark and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Lark at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
