My Story

Meet Laska, a ten month old Siberian Husky mix weighing 36 pounds. Have you ever met a dog that just seems to smile... That is Laska, she has the best smile we have ever seen and doesn't ever have a bad day. This petite beauty loves to say hi to everyone and knows no stranger... Everyone is a friend. She has what we call "happy feet" and does a little prance when extra excited. This adorable spaz also gets a serious case of the zoomies from time to time that you have to see to believe. She loves to go on walks and adventures and nothing seems to get her down. She has met another dog while with us and loved to play with him, she is very enthusiastic and would do well with another playful dog but she is also fine as an only dog. Laska was adopted out but returned due to her and their dogs not jiving. They got along great outside but when inside their dogs got territorial and in typical goobery husky fashion Laska couldn't catch a hint and just wanted to continue to play. They also said Laska should go to a home with no small animals as she loves to chase and play too much. She is so playful she can get a bit mouthy so she may be too much for young kids at this time. Make no mistake, there isn't a mean bone in Laska's body she just really loves to play and needs someone to show her some boundaries as to what is proper play and when it's time to stop. If you are looking for a happy, outgoing, silly girl who just needs a bit of polishing come meet Laska! When Laska came to us she has a limp and her finder thought she may have been hit by a car. X-Rays showed no breaks and that her hips are in excellent shape (yay). However, when a doctor looked her over they determined her to have a locating patella on the right side and her patella on the right side also seems to be a bit smaller than it should, the good news is her left back leg looks fine. She has been placed on pain management meds for the time being just to be safe and we recommend adopters follow up with their vet on if she needs treatment. We hope this doesn't discourage people from adopting Laska, she thinks she is pretty great despite this little hiccup and so do we! It certainly doesn't slow her down or stop her from enjoying life.
