My Story

Hi, my name is Lavender! I'm about one and half years old and 40 pounds. I am still learning to trust new people and feel comfortable in a home, but I wanted to share my bio in case my forever family is out there and maybe have a home for the holidays. All I want is love, and I have a lot of it to give! Unfortunately, I was wandering the mountains of Tennessee for months before nice people were able to catch me and get me to a shelter. I am so grateful that I am now in a warm and cozy foster home, but would love to find my forever home. I learn to trust the people in my life through treats and routine. If you are not willing to be patient while I learn to trust you, I am not the dog for you. It might take a week or two before I am comfortable enough to approach you for pets and treats, but I really do want to! I am just nervous! Every day, I get more and more confident and it will be rewarding to see my progress, but, again, you have to be patient! I startle easily but have no aggression. I am really hoping to find a family with another dog. I learn from them who I can trust and how to play and act! I do well on a leash and in the car. I have the softest fur and prettiest wavy ears, and the most soulful eyes. I don't have a mean bone in my body and am so gentle when I walk and snuggle. I know to go potty outside, but it may take a while to sniff around and decide to go. I really like toys too! My foster parents know I have a sweet and silly personality once I learn to trust you and my surroundings. Do you have room in your heart for me?
