My Story

Meet Licorice! Licorice is about 11 months old, around 40 lbs, and he may is a Mutt! Licorice, along with his two other siblings, were found wandering in the middle of a busy interstate. In his foster home, he is working on his house-training, crate-training and leash-walking. He could go to a home with other dogs, and/or kids 5+. Cats are unknown. He would benefit from a fenced in yard as he's still pretty nervous going on leashed walks. His foster says, "Licorice is a charming and affectionate dog with a gentle disposition. With his quiet demeanor and sweetness, he quickly wins the hearts of everyone he meets. Licorice enjoys spending time with his human and dog friends. He is not a big cuddler, but he loves to play and loves to receive affection. When he’s had enough, he will rest in his bed or crate. While he is initially nervous around new people and new situations, he is a big fan of affection and snacks. He will let you know that he loves you by rolling over for belly rubs. Licorice's respects and does well with boundaries. He is actually happier when he has them. He is a quick learner and has a puppy-like curiosity. He is also incredibly gentle and doesn’t mind being picked up, being brushed, having his paws cleaned, or his mouth checked. Licorice thrives when he is in his comfort zone. He loves to run and play in the yard, or play with his toys inside the house. He is nervous in new situations and prefers to stay close to his safe space, although he can be coaxed into occasional short walks with lots of love and snacks." He is available for adoption with an approved adopter by appointment in Hopkinton or Milford, MA.
