My Story

Name: Liza Age: 5 years old Breed: Frenchie Gender: Female Weight: 24lbs Energy Level: medium Color/Markings: tan merle Good with other dogs: yes Good with cats: yes Homes with children considered: older children only, the movements and behavior of young kids will frighten her Special needs: She needs a fenced in yard and another dog in the home to help show her the way and build confidence. We note the following on all of our bulldog profiles: Let’s face it, French Bulldogs are not the healthiest breed of dog out there. Because of this, we ask that all potential adopters familiarize themselves with common bulldog ailments before reaching out to us to adopt. Conditions to research include BOAS, IVDD, skin and ear infections, corneal ulcers, interdigital cysts, and heat intolerance. While this particular dog may be healthy and fine, we want all adopters to be aware that these things should be on their radar to recognize and watch out for so they can be addressed immediately in the event that their new little bulldog friend has a medical issue arise. Educated owners have happier/healthier dogs! Medications: none Medical History: none Life History: she was a breeder dog and they surrendered her thankfully to us. She is now vetted, is coming out of her shell, and is ready to find a home! Likes: playing with other dogs, a routine, and knowing what is expected Dislikes: loud slamming, people grabbing at her quickly, yelling Ideal home: would have a fenced in yard and other dogs Please note that many of our dogs come from “high volume breeders”. This means that they have lived in a kennel environment and before coming to us were not used to “normal” dog things like walking in a leash, toys, strangers, stairs, grass, and housetraining. We socialize and prepare them for their new homes from the moment they come to us, but some are a little more shy or timid than others. This means that as their new family, you will have to be patient and kind and give them time to adjust to your lifestyle. Please reach out to us with any questions regarding this dog in particular and their current confidence and training level to see if they may be a good fit! How to Adopt from Bella Run Equine: 1. Reach out to us with a brief paragraph about you and what you are looking for in a dog. If you are interested in a particular dog, let us know that. 2. We will then send you an adoption application to fill out (this takes 5 minutes for most people). 3. The thing that slows us down when approving people is obtaining their vet reference. If you call your vet and have them email a recommendation to us at [email protected], it speeds up the process so much. A good vet recommendation will include your current pets on file, their vaccination status, and whether you provide recommended vet care to your animals. 4. Once you are approved, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. This means that you will need to drive to us with your children and current dogs to meet the potential adoptable dog. 5. Since you are already pre-approved at this point, you can choose to take the dog home with you that day if you wish (and if we determine that it is a good fit, we reserve the right to deny any adoption at any time based on suitability) *The best way to contact us is to text us at 740-707-0793 or email us at [email protected] with the dog’s name in the subject line.*
