My Story

Lola is a sweet and snuggly 6-year-old female whose ready to give someone a lot of love! Thrive Animal Rescue is helping Lola's family rehome her due to personal reasons that are unrelated to Lola. She is local to the San Diego area and available for meet & greets upon approval of a submitted adoption application. She gets along great with all dogs & humans, although she prefers those who are well-mannered as Lola is submissive in nature and has a hard time standing up for herself if she's placed in a situation with a pushy pup, per her mom's report. Lola prefers quiet and serene settings as she gets overwhelmed by large noises like fireworks, slammed doors, loud children, etc. She will enjoy retreating to a safe space such as a covered crate or in the arms of her humans. Lola does not have a history of any reactivity, resource guarding, separation anxiety, destruction, or any other behavioral concern. She is a happy-go-lucky pup who just likes to be involved. "Lola's immediate reaction to new people is to fall on their feet and roll over for belly rubs. She would go home with a stranger if I let her! She's happy to go anywhere I take her, familiar or not" - Lola's mom. Lola has small tears in her ACL and developed arthritis as a result. She requires monthly injections of Librela to prevent pain from occurring. As long as she stays up to date on her shots, she is happy to romp around like any other dog where it doesn't slow her down at all. Lola's mom has detailed medical records dating back to 2018 when she originally rescued her as a puppy, where she has stayed on top of all of her annual wellness vaccines, yearly dental cleanings, maintenance for her Librela, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, routine bloodwork and lab work, etc. Lola's likes: Car rides where she can stick her head out the window, CHICKEN (her favorite thing in the world), tennis balls, positive praise for being the best girl, belly rubs, and holding her like a baby. Lola's dislikes: Screaming children, loud noises. Please submit an adoption application if you're interested in being considered for Lola. Our Adoption & Foster Coordinator will review your application with Lola's mom, and if it seems like a good fit, we will reach out for next steps to schedule a meet and greet.
