My Story

Hi! My name is Lonnie and I am from Alabama! From her foster: Lonnie is all puppy! She loves to play with her littermate brother and my resident dog. She's becoming braver all the time and exploring the backyard is a favorite new pastime. She's found her teeth and will need training about not biting feet and hands and shoes! We're still working on potty training. She makes it through the night with no accidents as long as we take one potty trip outside midway through. During the day is more inconsistent. She still occasionally has potty accidents in the house on the days when we're home. When I'm at work she gets let out every 3-4 hours; sometimes there is urine in the kennel when we come home. She is very smart and has caught on that when she uses the bathroom outside she gets a treat! She sleeps in the kennel at night and has no difficulties with this. She snuggles up with her brother and goes right to sleep. She also stays in the kennel during the workday. She is a very sweet cuddle bug. Even when wrestling her brother she wants to be in my lap! She hasn't been exposed to cats or children at this point. While Lonnie could probably be ok in an only-dog home, I think she would thrive with a companion animal. She really enjoys playing with her brother and my dog. However, if she has a companion animal she may need to avoid living in shared walls. She is VERY loud when she plays! Lots of shrieks, growls, and barks!
