My Story

Meet Lou Lou, the most adorable 9-week-old lab mix you'll ever meet! This playful pup is the perfect blend of energy and affection. Lou Lou is curious, feisty, and always ready to explore her surroundings. She loves nothing more than playing with her siblings and other dogs, making her a joy to have around. Lou Lou is already learning the ropes of being a well-behaved puppy. She's been introduced to pee pads and is doing great with potty training, especially when taken outside regularly like the big girl she is. She's also getting the hang of walking with a soft harness and leash and swims like a pro! This little girl is sure to steal your heart and would make a wonderful addition to any home. To make the transition even smoother, Lou Lou comes with her very own harness and leash, a favorite toy, a cozy tie blanket, and a small bed lovingly donated by her foster mom. Lou Lou is up to date on her vaccines and is a healthy, spirited swimmer who's ready to dive into her forever home! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 14 days of a veterinarian deeming the dog or puppy is ready to be altered. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.
