Meet Lucian! Lucians life took a dramatic turn for the better when he was rescued from a life of neglect found chained and starving, Lucians' spirit was as broken as his body. With love, consistent care, and nutritious food * and his favorite - the treat enriching toys* Lucian began to heal. He was able to be neutered after some consistent meals, despite his emaciated state. He also has a long healed scar on his spine, likely from trying to crawl under something to escape, but that will never have hair regrow in that spot. Thankfully he was heartworm negative! Today, Lucian is a different dog. He's playful, affectionate, and eager to learn. He's made remarkable progress in his manners, However, Lucian is still a young Doberman, around 1-2 years old, with plenty of energy and a huge eagerness to learn. He needs an active household to thrive Lucian is now ready to start the search for his forever home. His ideal family would have some experience in dog training or already has an established trainer, as his intelligence and eagerness to learn will thrive with consistent guidance. He likes and is used to young kids, however if you know anything about dobies, you know many communicate with their feet ! He likes to flop those front feet around when he's excited and can be too much for his resident 2 year old human when he is ready to play. While Lucian is a social butterfly with humans, he's unfortunately not a fan of cats. So, a home without feline friends would be ideal for him.
