Maia

Meet Maia! She’s a 3 year old Miniature Poodle mix. We aren’t sure what she is mixed with. Maia is 17lbs. Maia came to us as an owner surrender. From what we are told, Maia was an indoor dog for 2.5 years before she was put outside in summer of 2024. Why? We are told it was because of thewifes allergies. When Maia joined us, she was matted beyond belief. She was groomed the very same day she joined us and there was such a beautiful dog under all of that matted hair. Because of Maias past, she is a little shy. However, she is very sweet and loving. You can tell she has gotten used to living outdoors, but is trying to get used to being indoors again. Maia gets a little anxious in the crate, but we are working on that and she is doing well! We aren’t 100% sure if she is fully potty trained, but she has only gone potty outside so far! Maia is doing great with the fosters resident dogs. All 4 are 70-85lbs and she has done great with them. We think a home with other dogs would be best for her! Extremely energetic, in your face dogs, would probably make Maia nervous. A good go with the flow, low key dog or two would be great! She does ride well in the car. Great lil eater and loves wet food on top! Maia hasn’t been around cats, but we don’t see her having any issues with them. She’s a timid gal. As far as kids, young kids running around will probably make Maia nervous. However, older kids, maybe 8 and up would be ok! Maia has an adoption fee of $200 this includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm check, microchip, deworming and 1st dose of preventatives!
