My Story

Major is an adorable Cattle Dog mix who is approximately 1.5 years old and currently weighs 45 pounds. He was found on the side of the road with his two brothers in south Texas near the border of Mexico. The puppies were starving, covered with fleas and ticks and were just in terrible condition. Thankfully a private rescuer was able to help these puppies and get them into our care. Major is happy, playful and very smart boy! He loves everyone he meets and is always ready for adventure! He has the best time playing with his toys and enjoys romping around the play yard with the other dogs in his play group. He loves getting attention and affection will make a very loving companion. Major has fun adventurous personality, which would make for a great hiking, running or agility buddy and we can really see him doing well growing up in just about any family environment. Major is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet will be arranged with an approved application. Major tested positive for Chagas disease and has completed his treatment. The great news he will only need follow up blood work on December 26th and January 26th to totally confirm he is negative! We are so happy for him, so far we have had a 100% cure rate on all our dogs we have treated! Chagas is completely curable with treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
