My Story

Please read our Core Values prior to applying, www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations. Posted 12/18/2024 This beauty is Marigold, a 6-year-old Bichon/Poodle mix, weighing around 22 lbs. Marigold is a former puppy mill mom. She has been spending the past few months learning what it means to be loved while getting some much needed medical care. After years of being starved for attention, Marigold now craves it and loves to cuddle and be held so she prefers a family who is home more often than not. A work-from-home or retired human is ideal. When Marigold first arrived in her foster home, her foster family described her as numb to the world – she was just existing in life. Over the past few weeks, she has started to blossom and now loves to be with people and does the sweetest happy dance when she sees her humans! She is very interested in cats, so either a home without them or a dog-savvy cat would be best. Marigold absolutely loves other dogs, especially those who are her size. She thrives in the presence of another dog and would be best adopted into a home that has a canine friend. Marigold is learning all about what it means to be a family member. After being kept in a small cage for years raising litter after litter of puppies, she has a lot of life experiences to catch up on! She now loves to accept treats and is even starting to occasionally play with toys. Marigold is shy with new people and prefers to hang back and watch until she knows she can trust them. She is not intrusive and will lay calmly on a dog bed next to you while you’re working at a desk. Marigold startles easily at loud noises and sudden movements, so she needs a home without young children. When Marigold first arrived, her beautiful white curls were matted together and she had to be completely shaved. As her coat has grown back, her curls are fluffy and quite soft. She will need regular grooming and maintenance to keep her coat in healthy condition. Marigold recently had many teeth removed due to decay and gum disease (because she was not provided with regular vet care). She will be ready for her forever home at the end of January after one more dental appointment. Marigold has been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. She has come a long way both physically and emotionally, and we can’t wait to see how she continues to blossom! If you can provide a safe, patient, and loving environment for her, please apply today. Contact [email protected] for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process. Foster Homes are desperately needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal.
