My Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14211 Meet Marigold, a delightful little pup with a heart as bright as the flower shes named after! Name: Marigold of the Flower Power Pups Gender: Female Breed: Mixed Age: Born on 1.13.25 Weight: 4 lbs Current Location: Sykesville, MD About Marigold: Hi, Im Marigold, and Im as charming and vibrant as the flower Im named after! I love to explore every nook and crannywhether its a gentle stroll around our yard or a curious sniff at the local park. My favorite activities include playful chases after my squeaky toy, and I just cant resist a good chew on a safe, crunchy treat. Although I can be a little shy at firstespecially when everyone around seems so bigI quickly warm up with a kind word, a gentle pat, or even a tasty treat. For example, I might approach cautiously until I see a familiar face, then burst into joyful little bounces! Personality: Im playful, curious, and a bit reserved at first, but once I feel safe, I light up the room! Imagine me chasing a bouncing ball for a few minutes and then pausing to cuddle up for a nap beside you. Im known to be an excellent listener and a natural comforteroften giving gentle licks that say Im here for you! Energy Level: Moderate I balance my day between bursts of playful energy and long, cozy naps. I love interactive games like tug-of-war and fetch, but I also appreciate a quiet moment curled up in a sunlit corner or on your lap. Skills and Training: Im currently learning basic commands like sit and stay, and Im already showing promise in picking up new tricks. For instance, when my human claps their hands, I sometimes jump up in excitement or even try a little high-five! I love practicing these tricks during playtime, especially when a yummy treat is the reward. Companionship: I thrive on friendly interactions and love being by your side. Whether were venturing outdoors or enjoying a lazy afternoon at home, Im always ready to be your loyal buddy. Ive even been known to cheer up a gloomy day with my playful anticslike when I tilt my head in that adorable way to get extra cuddles. Love and Affection: Affection is my favorite language! I show my love by snuggling close, giving gentle licks, and nudging your hand when I need some pets. When you sit down to relax, you might find me curling up next to you, ready for a long, warm snuggle session. Included Veterinary Care: - Veterinary Visit: Ive already had a visit for my health certificate, ensuring Im as fit as a fiddle. - Vaccinations: Im up to date on all my vaccinations for my age, keeping me protected from common diseases. - Microchipped: Im microchipped for extra safety, so if I ever wander off, I can quickly find my way back home. - Heartworm Preventative: I receive heartworm prevention to shield me from those pesky parasites. - Flea and Tick Preventative: I get regular treatments to keep fleas and ticks away, letting me play outside worry-free. - Worm/Parasite Treatments: Im on a routine deworming schedule to ensure my tummy stays happy and healthy. Every day is an adventure, and with plenty of love and care, Im ready to bring joy and warmth into your life! Click here to see Flower Power Pups. In Action I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppys medical safety and longevity. To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
