Marshall

Meet Marshall! This chunky monkey is looking for a new home due to a family move and, sadly, unexpected HOA/homeowners insurance obstacles in the new location. Marshall is almost 6 years old and has a full tail. He’s neutered, and is a big love bug with his family. He’s currently residing with his family in Salem, Oregon, until he can be rehomed. As you can tell in the photos, he’s a big boy – his owner estimates him at 190 pounds, but that was just a guess (looks closer to 160-ish in photos (my guestimate), but I can’t tell if he’s oversized structurally as well). He is definitely overweight and should lose at least 20 to 30 pounds to be his best, healthiest self (better for hips and joints as he gets older). Like many Rottweilers, while a lover with his family, Marshall’s not a social butterfly with new people. He doesn’t like strangers coming to the home (think delivery drivers), but is okay with family visitors/people he knows. He lives with another dog (his Labrador buddy) and two cats and is fine with them. He’s also lived with chickens and a potbellied pig and was good with them as well. Marshall has basic obedience and walks well on leash, and will ignore other dogs on walks. He hasn’t been crate trained, but is good when left loose in the house (house trained with good house manners). He’s just a big lover and looking to be part of the family. An ideal new home would have breed experience, with another dog friend he could pal around with, and someone willing to work with him on his weight loss journey. Kids over 10. He’s a sweet boy who just wants to be with his people 24/7, if he can.
