Meet Matty, a sweet and gentle soul with a heart full of love. At 13 years old, Matty has a quiet wisdom about him, but he's also full of the little joys that make senior dogs so special. Relinquished by his previous owner who could no longer care for him, Matty is now looking for a home where he can spend his golden days surrounded by love, comfort, and companionship.
Matty may be partially blind due to cataracts, but he doesn't let that slow him down. He's a confident explorer who delights in life's simple pleasures--sniffing around the yard, enjoying leisurely walks, or curling up on a soft bed. His nose always knows where the treats are hidden, and his favorite spot is right next to you on the couch, soaking up all the cuddles he can get. Matty has a calm, charming personality, but he also has a spark of playfulness that shines through when he's feeling extra cozy and loved.
He's great with other dogs and friendly with everyone he meets--people of all ages instantly fall for his roly-poly sweetness. Matty's personality is a blend of warmth, curiosity, and affection. He's not the type to demand constant attention, but his presence fills a home with quiet joy and love.
Matty's recent vet visit revealed a large mass in his spleen, about the size of a grapefruit. Thankfully, it hasn't spread to other organs, and Matty isn't in any pain right now. However, this is a terminal condition, making Matty a hospice case. He's on a blood clotting supplement to support his health, and we're dedicated to making sure his remaining time is as happy and comfortable as possible.
Matty still has plenty of life and love to share. He'd thrive in a calm, caring home with an adopter who has experience with senior dogs and isn't away for long hours.
