Hello! My name is Max, and I'm a unique blend of Catahoula, Husky, and Heeler. I'm 18 months old, weighing in at 44 pounds with a clean bill of health—I'm heartworm negative and up-to-date on my vaccines. I’m a high-energy, playful boy who loves to snuggle. I get along great with other dogs and pretty much ignore cats. I was mistreated by a neighbor, so I need proper introductions to new people. Despite my past experiences, I’m a survivor and have shown incredible resilience. I do have occasional happy pees and may pull on the leash a bit, but I’m smart and learn quickly (I already know how to sit and am working on "wait"). I adore being around another dog and need plenty of space to run and explore. I’ll thrive best in a home with older kids. I do tend to herd and nip at small children, and I’m learning my manners when it comes to jumping on people and navigating furniture. I show some signs of territorial behavior and separation anxiety, so I may bark a bit before settling down in my crate. I'm definitely housebroken and do a good job of letting you know when I need to go outside. If you have the space and patience for a loyal, agile, and loving companion, I'm your guy.
