My Story

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS. Mia is a 1 year old mini Aussie shepherd, Lab mix her foster mom was told. Mia weighs 35-40 pounds., is spayed, immunizations up to date and is on flea and tick monthly preventative. She would be great for a family or single person that enjoys outdoor activities. She is very high energy, always happy and needs lots of activity. Mia loves attention, loves balls, sticks, squeaky toys and treats. She also loves playing with other dogs although she can be shy until she assesses the situation. She has never been around cats so we don’t know how she would be with them. A typical day starts with a quick potty walk and then she gets breakfast. Next she and foster mom head to a nearby park, walk 2-3 miles and finally go to the dog park for her to run and play with the dogs there. When they get home she will get a small treat and they both rest. It doesn’t take long for Mia to be up and ready to go again. They will then go back to the park for the same above routine or to a neighbor’s to play with her dog. She definitely prefers to be outside and busy above all else. Mia eats dinner around 5-6pm each night and returns outside one final time. She goes to sleep in her crate in foster mom’s bedroom. The door of the crate stays open and in the morning she will come wake foster mom up. Mia gets fed twice a day. Each meal is 1 cup of Blue Buffalo skin and stomach care turkey and potatoes. She had stomach issues before she was switched to this and has done well since. She is potty trained and shakes the cord on the blinds when she needs to go out. Mia will be wonderful in an active home with either a family or a single person who have time and energy to give. Give her a large ball and she will dribble it down the yard like a soccer player. She is incredibly smart and has so much potential. Her only dislike foster mom notices is when someone tries to take food or toys directly out of her mouth. She will growl at them so probably best in a home without tiny children who might grab from her. She will be both an asset and a joy in the right home. Adoption donation $150. Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range.
