My Story

Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation. STRAY - NEW INTAKE 1/13/2025: Michi - female - approx 13-15 years - 4.12 very thin pounds - Yorkie NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS - NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Reason for intake: We named her Michi. She was found on Sunday, 1/12/25, at 4:45pm in the middle of Hwy 162, between Arnold Road and Linton Bellevue Road. The finder believes that she was probably trying to keep warm on the asphalt. It's a miracle she did not get run over. She is missing a lot of her coat, appears to have no teeth, and in poor shape. She was very lethargic when we took her in. We gave her some nutrical and food to see if that would perk her up and it did. We have notified Bossier City Animal Control that we have this dog. If an owner comes forward they will be required to RECLAIM HER THROUGH BOSSIER CITY ANIMAL CONTROL, during their business hours and pay the reclamation fee. If this is your dog, please message our page. If no one claims her, we will vet her and then place this sweet baby for adoption. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life.
