My Story

The very first thing that Miso the Schnauzer / Poodle mix (Schnoodle) wants to make clear is that he's a love. In these very poor photos, you're not aware of his stunning coat. Miso is believed to be around 2 years old and he is 17 lbs. Miso is a non-shedding dog (this is as per shelter vets, we can't swear to this information). What we can swear to is that this little guy is irresistible! Miso will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition. 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great protocols for coat care as well as general longevity. Everything now is brand new to Miso. He sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand, and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch. And then, once he's comfortable in his environment, Miso is on your lap or cuddling close accepting love and returning it a million times over. Miso's story is a sad one. Miso and his Terrier partner were found on a busy urban Texas street. Both dogs were picked up by animal control which is always terrifying for small dogs. Miso therefore arrived at the shelter frightened as well as in dire need of grooming. But the shelter director is a kind dog-lover and due to Miso's great temperament, decided to give him a chance. Miso has blossomed over a month and is now ready for his transport to Colorado. As he decompresses, Miso is realizing the the world is a pretty great place. He's developed relationships with shelter personnel and they've fallen head over heels in love with him. This Schnoodle truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job, some serious hugging and kind words will send him over the moon. In this spirit of great behavior, Miso loves to spread his sweetness around. He is such a people dog. He grows to love his humans and canine friends with all his heart. We can envision Miso with an active retired couple or individual who understand, and are patient with the time that acclimation to a new home takes. Miso would be thrilled with the attention that retirees often put into their dogs. Miso would also enjoy a younger family who desire an adorable and sweet as can be dog as a family member and best friend. We feel that Miso is too sensitive to be left alone for the long hours of a full-time job outside of the home. A family that works from a home-based office would be perfect for Miso. He would be so excited to receive the attention and periodic snuggles over the course of the day. Being a young Schnoodle, Miso enjoys physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Miso in a home where he'll get this consistent stimulation and tons of loving hugs. Positive reinforcement / force free training classes promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Farfel's feels very strongly that Miso participate in virtual or in-person training classes in order to master his skills and become an extremely bonded, well-behaved and very pleasant companion out in the world. It is for these reasons that we're unwilling to adopt Miso to a family that doesn't choose to provide him with this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of our approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Miso will be overjoyed to hike along Colorado paths and trails, enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. This little guy can have a moment of insecurity from all the changes that have been in his life. A guardian that is present and full of good intention can readily get this little guy past these feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned. Miso's nature is to be very joyful and positive, and in just a short time, his silly and fun-loving personality takes over. Miso has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered to fulfill Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis in the canine community. Miso will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 2/10/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Miso please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
