Mochi

Mochi is scheduled for her spay on March 18 and will not be available for adoption outside of a 30 minute radius of Des Moines until after her spay. Mochi came to Iowa from an Oklahoma shelter with her momma Zarah and 8 siblings when she was approximately 5 weeks old. She was assigned a birthdate of 11/23/24 since we don't have an exact date of birth. Mochi is a possible Border Collie/Husky mix and weighs 14 lbs. at 12 weeks old. Mochi is the sweetest little girl who will melt your heart in a minute. She loves to cuddle! Mochi looks like a fluffy cloud with icy blue eyes and has a calm personality. She is taking well to potty training and sleeps in a kennel at night. She plays well with her foster brothers and her foster humans. Shortly after arriving at her foster home, she did take a little tumble while playing, which resulted in a fracture to her right hind leg near the knee. Mochi has healed well and is out of her splint. She will need a little time to regain the flexibility and rebuild the muscle after having been splinted for a few weeks. She was diagnosed with parvo on February 5, 2025 and received the monoclonal antibodies and antibiotics. With exceptional care from her foster family, she was back to normal in a couple of days. Mochi has proven to be very resilient and is happy-go-lucky girl ready to meet her new family and experience the world with them. She will not be adopted to a family living in an apartment, condo, or townhouse due to her being vocal at times and needing a yard to play in. We are looking for a family that has experience owning active, vocal dogs and one that can keep up with a very active dog. Another active, social dog living in the home is also a plus.
