My Story

Mona Lisa has a sad past, but her smile still shines through. She was picked up as a stray along the Texas / Mexico border where she was found defeated and laying in the grass. She was brought into the shelter system only to be just another sad pittie, lost in the mix. It took a special person who shared her story which allowed us to rescue her. Fast forward, Mona Lisa is adoption ready. She is a petite pittie, around 45lbs, 4 years old and extremely affectionate and gentle. Mona Lisa was temporarily fostered by a family who had small children and she was very gentle with them; after all pit bulls are known to be "the nanny dog". They have the reputation for being a guardian angel of children. Mona Lisa is healthy, up to date on vaccines, walks well on leash, has good manners in the home - housebroken, crate trained and does not chew - and loves to cuddle and give kisses. As soft and affectionate she is with people, Mona Lisa does not enjoy the company of other dogs and we have no been able to cat test her. We recommend she be your one and only pet. She has enough love to go around! She would benefit from a home with a yard to run, play and enjoy the sunshine!
