My Story

Introducing this sweet & beautiful chihuahua, Monroe. Monroe is looking for a loving forever home where he can receive all of the love and good things that life has to offer, things which he has missed out on so far in his 3 years on this planet! Monroe was one of over 100 chihuahuas rescued from a severe hoarding situation in Central Texas. Despite this awful start to his life, Monroe has emerged to become a calm and happy dog with a wonderful zest for his new life! We’re amazed by how well he has adapted to his new life. Monroe is a wonderful boy who loves to snuggle with his human and get belly rubs. He has a great appetite and is easily trained with treat rewards. Monroe has a low+ activity level. He loves walks followed by a nice nap; he has learned proper leash behaviour really quickly! Monroe is cat and dog friendly and greatly enjoys the companionship of his doggie siblings in his foster home. Monroe would do well with a buddy dog in a calm home environment and would benefit from a fenced yard when off leash. Monroe is also potty trained and can sleep in the crate, but he does prefer to share the bed with his foster family! Monroe is wonderful with spa treatments such as baths, nail trims and ear cleanings. Given his history, it makes sense that Monroe can be a little shy with new humans so being calm during initial meetings and a confident canine sibling help him feel more confident. Apply today to meet this wonderful little guy! Monroe is being fostered in Austin, TX and is adoptable throughout Texas and Northeastern states.
