Montana

Meet Montana, Montana was picked up in our county on the verge of death. A few more days and it would have been too late to save him. He was so weak from starvation; he could barely stand on his own. We had to carry him to our van and into the vet's office to get him emergency care. He had pretty much given up on help ever coming. He weighed 32 lbs. He should weigh around 80. He has been neglected for a very, very long time. Deprived of the very basics to sustain life. He was so grateful to feel our caring touch. He's in great hands now and we are going to see him through to a long and healthy, happy life. After spending a couple of nights at our vet for emergency care, this sweet shepherd is now doing much better. We are confident he is on his way back to a healthy weight. This magnificent shepherd will be a work in progress for months to come. He needs to put on some needed pounds to get stronger. Once we feel he is stable, he will be treated for heartworms. We would love to get Montana settled in his forever home now. He needs a more calming environment than our shelter which will allow him to improve more quickly. Montana is a young dog. He is extremely sweet. Sadly, he got a really crappy start in life and his health has been neglected. But we have plenty of time to restore him to the stunning shepherd he was born to be.
