Special Adoption Considerations: Nora is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Nora is Looking For: Nora nursed and raised 11 beautiful puppies (Nicolas, Natalia, Ned, Nadine, Nevelle, Newman, Natasha, Norbert, Nico, Nessie and Nash) and is now ready for her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this sweetie ended up in the shelter. She's eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. What do you say?
