Nutmeg

Nutmeg is a 7-year-old, 7-pound chihuahua found in a carrier case on a commuter rail platform with a sign “Beware of Dog!” Her foster mom wonders, beware of what? Her super cuteness? How much she likes to snuggle and be in your lap? How joyous she is and follows you everywhere? That she has ears that won’t quit? That she will immediately steal your heart? In her foster mom’s opinion, there is nothing about Nutmeg that one should beware of. Nutmeg is a huge snuggler who loves every minute with her human and will follow them around to see what they are up to. She is a very happy dog and burns through a lot of calories by wagging her tail. She ok with other dogs but would vastly prefer to be an only dog to bask in her owner’s full attention. She will give all the love she gets and then some. Nutmeg barks at strangers who come into the house but within a couple of minutes, she is in nirvana, lying on her back and getting belly rubs from someone she just met. After a getting comfortable with the situation, groups of humans are her jam as there are many hands and laps available for her enjoyment. And, to her, there is nothing better than jumping into bed and cuddling under the covers at night with her human. Nutmeg pretty much house trained but, like most chihuahuas, would prefer to do her business indoors if the conditions aren’t right. She takes off any outfits and prefers a human for extra body warmth. Being a tiny dog, Nutmeg would be best in a home without young children, as they could accidentally hurt her. She is spayed, had recent dental work and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is being fostered in Somerville, MA and her adoption fee is $350.
