My Story

2/5/2024 Oakley II is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Oakley II! I am a 2-year-old handsome fawn boy that is an owner surrender and am now in a foster home and looking for my forever home! I am described as shy, smart, affectionate, and nervous. I am said to be dog friendly only with dogs that are my size. Because of safety and my dislike of cats and smaller animals, I need a home with dogs that are at least my size and no cats. There are no kids in my current home so a proper introduction would be needed. I am house trained and crate trained! At night I sleep in my crate and if the humans must be away and I am left alone, I am fine crated. I can be a little mischievous (I chewed on a pair of sunglasses) so it is best to crate me if I must be left alone. When outside I do not dig but am able to jump kiddie gates or chicken wire fences. I am fearful of hats and sunglasses worn on top of heads and running water (I am fine with buckets and bowls of water). I am a smart boy that knows basic commands, loves to snuggle, play with chew toys (I do not like hard toys or rope toys), talkative with other dogs (but not a nuisance barker), and responds well to softly spoken correction/redirection. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, snuggling, sunbathing, treats, and my snuffle mat! My current foster home says I am a very good boy that has a mistrust of humans but can be won over! If you are looking for a sweet boy and are patient to help me learn to trust and love again, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
