My Story

Meet Paloma, a one year old Standard Poodle mix weighing around 45 pounds. When Paloma came to us we instantly noticed she was bleeding from multiple locations but once she was shaved down we saw the extent of her pain/injuries. Paloma was covered in infected and inflamed lesions. Although we aren't sure how they came to be, it was clear something had to be done. We started her on antibiotics and ointment among other things and are already starting to see a difference. Paloma has been incredibly sweet throughout everything. Although she is hesitant in new situations and with new people, she is willing to trust and we are sure as she continues to heal she will also continue to open up. Paloma would probably do best in a home without you kids right now (six and under) but that doesn't mean that down the road once she is healed and had some more socializing that she wouldn't enjoy being around kids. This gentle girl walks well on a leash and is looking forward to finding a forever home that will make sure she receives proper care moving forward. Please remember Paloma is a hair breed dog that requires regular grooming to prevent her fur from matting. This pet is available for adoption on 1/16/2025 at 10:11 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.
