My Story

Paloma Diamond is named for a fictional character, which is fair, since she seems too good to be true. Yet here she trots, a youthful poodle covered in lush apricot-infused curls just sizzling with real live cuteness. She likes people, dogs and cuddles, and climbs stairs like nobody's business. House-trained and good on a leash, she is clearly an over achiever, but not at all stuck up. Adopt her soon before she gets a job in retail. Here's some notes from his foster: Paloma is a very loving, playful and easy going little dog. She loves dogs, rabbits and humans. She's independent and can be left alone for hours but prefers company. At times, if she feels lonely, she jumps on my bed, and starts talking while to us and staring at the camera to make me feel guilty :) She's fully potty trained and never had an accident. Except if she hears the doorbell, Paloma doesn't bark. She is so easy going that I take her everywhere with me (restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping in general). I took her on public transportation and car rides and she loved it. I took her to the Castro night market, it was loud and buzzing but she was so happy to be in a crowd that the loud music didn't even bother her. I took her to Dolores park to watch the Blue Angels and the noise didn't faze her at all! She sat on the blanket and watched the planes fly. Nothing fazes her. She's simply amazing. If she wakes up before you, she'll patiently wait for you to awake. Then it's cuddle time! She'll come to you for cuddles and will twist and roll around Cirque du Soleil style to get as much love as possible. After that, I feed her and off we go for our walk She went from being overweight and not being able to walk 2 blocks to going on 7 mile urban hikes with me. During the day she walks 1-2 miles. She loved every minute of it and lost 2 pounds within 1 month. She's a very friendly girl. If she sees someone or a dog she wants to meet, she'll patiently wait until they walk by her so she can greet them. Because she's so eager to say hello, sometimes she doesn't understand why a dog is not interested. If I go to work, I leave the crate door open if Paloma wants to go in, otherwise she has full range of my place. I leave some music or show on, so she doesn't feel lonely, I give her a treat and leave. She usually lounges on the couch or on my bed. She also loves to pull toys out of the toy bin. If she's tired, she'll go to bed by herself. She'll sleep at the edge of the bed and sleep through the night.
