My Story

Meet Pancho, a three year old Pit/Shepherd mix weighing around 56 pounds. When staff came in one day they found this guy running around outside our building, thankfully he was caugh before he went onto the highway and was hit. Pancho walks well on a leash and is slowly opening up to us, he was a bit unsure at first but is really doing better than most dogs do when they are dumped outside our building. He met another large breed dog in our lobby and did well so we think he could go to a home with another dog but we always recommend a meet and greet prior to adoption. Pancho walks well on leash and has been good about minding his manners. This pet is available for adoption on 12/24/2024 10:57 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works. Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/ Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at [email protected].
